The two most authoritative legal rankings for lawyers have recently been published: Chambers and Legal 500. The Kennedy Van der Laan media team has again been awarded top rankings in both guides in the category media and entertainment (see Chambers and Legal 500).
Jens van den Brink is mentioned as ‘notable practitioner’ in the Chambers ranking: “Jens van den Brink has been especially active recently in handling defamation and copyright disputes for broadcasters and newspapers. Clients say he is “very good, he knows what he is talking about and he always reacts very promptly.” He advised UPC Nederland on a dispute in which a German rights holder organisation was seeking to disclose the identity of UPC subscribers who had exchanged pirated movies.” Legal500 ranks Jens as a leading individual.
Christien Wildeman is alo mentioned as notable practitioner in the Chambers ranking: “Christien Wildeman handles media disputes, particularly regarding defamation as it relates to journalists. Clients state that she is “quite sharp. I like working with her, she is always available.” She advised KRO-NCRV and CCCP on a dispute concerning the broadcasting of video recordings made within Media Markt premises.”
The Media Law International guide ranking was also published recently; it also ranked our media team in tier 1.
In the Who’s who legal guide Kennedy Van der Laan’s “outstanding” TMT team is even ranked as nr. 1 worldwide.
